17 Mar Spreading courage
Hi my lovies…
It’s been spring break over here in my little corner of the world. Hence, my absence. I’m all over Instagram (@emilylorin) though, if you ever get concerned! đŸ˜‰
I was able to visit a friend this past weekend. My very best friend who saw me through the worst of the worst and has been a complete blessing since entering my life. She moved to NC last November ::cue tears:: and I hadn’t seen her since then! Eeeeee So you can only imagine my excitement to spend 3 1/2 days with her!
[Side Note: I drove by myself 6 hrs there and back…if you have spent anytime around this little corner of the world at all, you know that I detest driving, but I love the way car rides lull me to sleep. Except for when I am the sole driver. I feel accomplished as if I have taken one more large step into adulthood.]
Alas, I am back on solid ground after a very rainy drive home today and connected to the internets again. (BFF lives in the woods most days of the week…so she and her home are mildly disconnected for the big world. Not such a bad thing if you ask me.)
I want to share with you a project I am working on. As many of you know…I just recently got out of a bad marriage. [If you don’t know you can read a little bit about it here, here, and here.]
This relationship left me in a lot of debt, with a new sense of identity, and with huge courage.
I believe my next season involves me speaking with people/magnifying the dialogue on abuse, shame, fear, ad courage. Brene Brown has already done a wonderful job of beginning the shame dialogue and I want to continue that conversation along with my own personal story of abuse and shame.
I would love for you to watch this 9 min. video about my personal story.
It is for a HopeMob campaign to get me out of the thousands of dollars of debt I was left in by my husband. If you feel so inspired I would love for you to consider going here to help me continue sharing this story.
Thank you so much, friends.
And I would love for you to pass along the video to your loved ones, even if you do not feel comfortable sharing the HopeMob link. I believe these are important things we aren’t speaking enough about.
I would like for many to hear this story to inspire more and more courage! #courageepidemic
