i bid you adieu {for just a moment}

Impractical Dreaming

16 Jan i bid you adieu {for just a moment}

as an introvert, i often need quiet to recharge and find my center.
sometimes…as a human being, i need a plethora of quiet to hear from God and realign my world properly.
there are a lot of exciting things going on over here in this little world of mine. change looms not too far in the distance & with growth, change, & new adventures come exciting {and difficult} decisions.
i have felt suffocated by the world lately; cluttered in my thoughts.
i need more quiet.
a couple of weeks ago, an author i find most inspiring–emily p. freeman–wrote a writer’s manifesto for the new year. it is basically brilliant & made my mind only churn more than it’s usual bluster.
you should read it.
in her manifesto you commits that while writing she will be herself, tell stories, write to connect (not compete). she will be “relentlessly helpful to the souls of others,” and “refuse to write from a place of hurry.”
thoughts that i most readily needed to hear.
so as i have chewed on such a charge & pondered my purpose here in this little internet corner…i must admit that i have concluded that my purpose needs to be redefined.
if my true mission is to see others radically liberated from the chains of shame & fear by the power of Jesus Christ {not mine}
…what should i be doing here differently to encourage that?
so…as i ponder such questions, along with bigger life questions, this little cubicle of the world will be quite silent for the rest of the month.
i hope you will forgive me…and then invite all of your friends back for my return party at the beginning of february. {because the new site will be up then too…shhh…don’t tell anyone.}
so many projects…so much breathing room needed.
as i bid my adieu…please do not fear…you will still be able to find me in the streets of the following places:
twitter: @emlorin
facebook: emily lorin
instagram: @emilylorin
snapchat: @em_lorin
look, you guys, really i am not very hard to find. {i make no apologies for the fact that i a) like my name & b) like my usernames to be simple & easy to remember.}
i will miss you.
“In order to be open to creativity, one must have the capacity for constructive use of solitude. One must overcome the fear of being alone.”
