Happy Birthday Henry Bartholomew!!!

Impractical Dreaming

16 Dec Happy Birthday Henry Bartholomew!!!

Meet Henry…He is one year old today (in people years, of course)!

He is the sunshine in my life.

I never thought I would love an animal so much in my entire life. I’m actually allergic to most fuzzy things…cats, dogs, horses, etc. But here’s the problem…I adore animals. I think they’re just another little gift from God.

Last January when I had finally had enough I went on the hunt for a new furry friend. I had looked before at shelters, humane societies, online, but never been able to make the purchase. Mostly because at the time I had roommates who said NO. But this past January I was determined. I searched online and eventually found this little guy. The problem…he was in Tennesee…and not the close part of TN either. My dear mother and sister rode with me the FIVE hours it took to get there only to turn around and drive the five hours home.

It was the most ridiculous road trip I have ever been on. At one point we were driving through these intensely huge montanas (that is supposed to have a little ~ on the ‘n’…just pretend). I’m not talking just your every GA mountains. These guys were HUGE and had been blown to bits to put a highway through them. On either side we eventually discovered were walls of rock. Before we were able to see this though, we had to make the trek up the mountain in the cold, dense fog. I didn’t think LaFonda (the car) was going to make it. I truly didn’t. But…*pause for suspense* WE MADE IT! And on the other side of those scary mountains was this sweet little boy.

I’m positive that no one in cyber world is as interested in this little fellow as I am…but I AM positive that if you were to meet him you would adore him.

He’s a stinky, rotten egg…but the cutest one you’ll ever see in your life. So drink a toast to him…he has been a light in through a time of…almost darkness. Yay for Henry for bringing so much love and happiness to my world! He is the sweetest you will ever meet. :) (And I’m not biased whatsoever.)

(ps. His middle name was dubbed Bartholomew by his friend Erin Paige who loves him dearly. Admit it…it’s so ridiculous it’s adorable. :D)
