02 Mar For your weekend…
Wow. I can’t believe that it’s been over a week since I last posted.
To say things have been hectic would be an understatement.
But it’s March and that’s simply how this time in the semester goes.
I feel like my brain has been on overload the past couple of weeks. I can’t tell you exactly the full cause of it.
Well I could but then I’d have to come hunt you down and make you promise to keep my secret.
For now…suffice it to say…there is a very good reason (well an alternative reason other than the all important, graduate school) as to why my brain is on overload.
Promise to tell soon. And promise you’ll be excited. (Or maybe you’ll at least enjoy my excitement a little…at the very least. I mean, we are friends. Come on.)
Until then…I’m soaking up as much “down” time and sunshine with these little faces as I can.
There is a certain knack that they posses to help you turn your brain off. Their magic can only be worked though, if you allow it.
You must accept the challenge.
The challenge to view a trashcan lid as a sled and the key to your next biggest adventure.
The challenge to think the “big kids” doing tricks on their skateboards in the neighborhood is the coolest thing since Cirque de Soleil.
The challenge to see the absence of order not as chaos, but as perfection and freedom.
Not everyone can do it. Brain stems attached to cell phones (guilty), eyes glued to screens…are like cryptonite to these fairy-like magic capabilities.
So for your weekend may you find joy in the madness. May life not seem chaotic or overwhelming but the perfect combination of in control and just doing it’s own thing.
May the bad little things be just what they are…little.
And may the good little things be magnified by the power to persevere and a little change in perspective to blow you away by their wonder dance.
May your work not be the chain that keeps you grounded and miserable. But may the opportunity to seize the moment overwhelm you so that you can’t help but smile, jump, float, and do a happy dance (or jig, if you’re the jigging type).
May your heart and soul be satiated with the awareness that…it is good.
And if it’s really not good…well then may you find comfort and peace in your Saturday.
And may love be a song that comes swooping around the corner, swirls around your ankles, up your legs, and twirls your hair…and may you feel it. Truly feel it.
Happy Weekend…
