07 Oct 3…little ones
I nanny three days a week for a family of two. One fireball, alpha-female, spicy 4-yr-old and a true first born, lover of playing with friends 7-yr-old. It’s been a little over a year since I walked into their lives. It is a privilege to share life with both the kiddos and their parents. They continually teach me about life, love, and vulnerability. Sometimes they make me laugh so hard I cry. Sometimes they are so sweet it brings tears to my eyes. Sometimes I want to scream…but every night when I walk out of the youngest’s room, after tucking her in…she yells, “Good night, Emily!” And it never fails to follow with…”I love you!” If that doesn’t make it all worth it then I don’t know what would.
They never attempt to sensor themselves. Most of the time it’s amusing, sometimes frustrating, but always endearing.
They live and love without restraint.
…I’m taking notes from them.
So thankful and honored that this is my job.
[Side note: I did this from my iPhone. Pretty nifty, huh!!? So I have no idea how this shall turn out. My apologies if its wonky.]
