#23: Seek Adventure!

I think the pictures speak for themselves. We went zip-lining as an early Christmas present from the bestest madre in the world. God helped us out by providing (safety, duh and) the most beautiful and perfect day to swing in the trees. 

This is my favorite kind of fun…in the mountains, a little adrenaline pumping, climbing, swinging, Fall. 

In my book…these are the best adventures.

The fear creeps up on you though. You think you’re fine and “this isn’t a big deal,” until you’re swinging 200 ft. from the ground on a rickety bridge and for a moment you forget you’re connected to something safe. For just a second you think that if you fall you are a goner. You become unaware that those crab claws above you can hold 5,000 lbs. a piece. For a moment your eyes rapidly scan the horizon looking for one of the guys in the yellow helmets to make sure they’re keeping an eye on you — they’re not.

Fear.

But then you remember those crab claws–the ones that can hold up to 10,000 pounds. Then you relax. You rest. It can be fun again. You’re safe. The adventure is still thrilling, but suddenly the crippling fear has been removed. No matter what you do, you’re safe while attached to those crab claws.

Funny how deceiving it can be, huh?
