11 —- Ferris Wheel

23 Oct 11 —- Ferris Wheel

A couple of Sundays ago, we were heading home from our premarital mentoring and we stumbled upon the county fair. Known for their high class and fanciness, I knew we had to go.
Like the 5-year-old that I am, I immediately started bouncing around in the car begging to go to the fair. We had plenty of things to get home to do, most of which I had insisted we get done. But I quickly threw my game plan out the window with the first sighting of Ferris Wheel.
I adore me some Ferris Wheel. Don’t ask me why. I can’t explain. I just do. And swings that spin around and around until you think you’re going to vomit? Yep. Sign me up for those too.
So one big-eyed-grinned (which doesn’t sound appealing I know, but somehow it works) and the boy had given me the approval to call the sister and brother and make it a family kind of night.
Now…before you get too jealous…it’s the Cumming Fair people. Filled with the sounds of country music, redneck jargon, the smells of deeply friend [anything], and cigarette smoke…and if you walk in the wrong place…animal poop. Calm down.
It wasn’t about the actual event. It was about allowing ourselves to act a fool…or like small children again. (I personally allow myself to do this daily, but for some it is a little harder I’m told.)
And that night it was just fun. We walked around and had a lot of laughs. Wasted a little money on rigged games…and (obvi) rode Swings and Ferris Wheel.
Do it. I dare you. Find your inner child. Go skip. Go roll down a hill. Go roller skating. It will be fun. You won’t regret it (I don’t think…unless you fall and break something…don’t do that. Be safe.)
Let your inner child free…he or she is probably more fun anyways.
Someone had to say it.
