Shame-fighting, courage-spreading, & fire-owning can be tough sometimes. Here are a few resources to help loosen the chains & flex your authenticity muscles…
- If you’re wondering how Jesus responds in your shame-filled moments, if you believe you’re too far gone for grace: this 3rd part of Passion City Church’s “Hope Has A Name” series will charm you out of hiding
- If your version of religion is weighing you down: this 2nd part of North Point Community Church’s “Brand New” series will help you find lightness & freedom
- In fact…if you have any wounds, scars, qualms with religion or have a sneaking suspicion your religion may be a little legalistic…you owe yourself a listen to the whole “Brand: New” series
- Brené Brown is a haven for the shame-trampled. My two personal favorite books are:
- “Daring Greatly: How the courage to be vulnerable transforms the way we live, love, parent, and lead”
- “The Gifts of Imperfection: Let go of who you think you’re supposed to be and embrace who you are”
Other excellent freedom & courage reads:
- “The Raggamuffin Gospel” by Brennan Manning
- “Redeeming Love” by Francine Rivers
- “Grace for the Good Girl: Letting God of the Try-Hard Life” by Emily P. Freeman
- Carry On, Warrior: The Power of Embracing Your Messy, Beautiful Life
I am constantly discovering great new resources so, as always, stay tuned into the bloggy blog.
