Hi! My name is Emily Lorin.
I know we’ve only just met, but I adore you already.
You can read all of the fancy stuff below, but the bottom line is this: I use counseling & yoga therapy to help fill you with the truth that you are adored, your presence here matters much & that you are stronger than you know. You are not broken. You are awesome. You are enough.
I believe there is radical freedom (from fear, depression, anxiety, etc.) waiting for you.
I earned a Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy from Richmont Graduate University. There I focused on addiction and obtained a specialization in Christian Sex Therapy. I hold my Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Georgia. I am a Licensed Associate Professional Counselor (#APC005034) in practice at Trillium Springs Counseling under the direction & supervision of Vilda S. Brannen, MS, LPC, CPSC and Kathryn Larisey, MS, LPC, CPSC. I am also a Registered Yoga Teacher with the Yoga Alliance and the International Association for Yoga Therapists.
During my time at Ridgeview Institute and the Hope Counseling Center at Mount Paran, I worked closely with people suffering from depression, anxiety, addiction & histories of trauma. It was there that I discovered my specialty in working with women’s/feminist issues, self-esteem, relationship issues, post-divorce, grief, abuse, body image, perfectionism, codependency & trauma issues. I also focus on moms of children with chronic illness or disability.
I completed my 200 hour yoga teacher training in Seattle under Certified Iyengar Yoga Teacher, Richard Schachtel. It was there that I began to discover the deep healing power of yoga & the mind, body, spirit connection.
Our sessions together will be interpersonal & eclectic. I wholeheartedly believe that you are the expert in your own story & I am simply a fellow sojourner. I am passionate about reducing anxiety, restructuring the roles you play in your world & helping you to re-author your life, moving towards more positive, healthy relationships. I pull from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Interpersonal, Narrative & Attachment models.
I believe both yoga therapy & counseling are the methods through which to create a beautiful, peace-filled mind, body and spirit.
I want you to remember that often the most courageous & loving act you will ever commit is to first know yourself and love you entirely.
Simply, my heart is to help guide you back to wholeness, back to your truest self.
