23 Mar Sprung Spring
Spring has sprung…and by that I am not talking about the birds that now greet me with song every morning or the little ground animals that have emerged that Henry thinks it’s his job to chase, nor am I talking about the incredibly beautiful weather that has turned my skin pink…
I am in fact pointing out that spring has arrived in school.
It’s that time of year again.
Anxiety and stress are easily found these days, you can’t go anywhere without finding at least one person trying to print an assignment due five minutes prior. Laptops are being overworked and overheated, wrists are developing carpal tunnel, backs are aching from long night reading and studying, coffee shops and libraries have never seen so much action. Brains are being overloaded with information and caffeine. And spring is in full motion!
Today…my to-do list has caught me off guard; all of the red-circled deadlines in my planner seem to want to jump out of my planner and strangle me.
I felt I kept on task pretty well throughout the semester…seems I dropped the ball at some point, or maybe there is just a lot. I am settling on a combination of the two somewhere in the middle.
So today…given that I do not find it helpful to stress…because I know what I have to do and how long I have to do it and when each thing must be turned in…I have noted what needs to be done and when. I am aware. I will get it done. (I may not get any sleep, but it will be done.)
For today…this is where I’ll be…
A sweet escape, take me away
Take me away to better days
Take me away, a hiding place
I got a pocket, got a pocketful of sunshine
I got a love and I know that it’s all mine, oh, oh oh oh
Do what you want but you’re never gonna break me
Take me away…a secret place
