15…have ridiculously awesome friends

See that girl right there? Well for three years of my life we were inseparable.

They were some of the best years of my life.

We did a lot of Zumba. Drank lots of wine. Tried to figure out life. Laughed until we cried. Studied some. Laughed some more. And danced. We dancing was pretty nonstop.

 We both graduated from UGA 09/10 but the problem is…she stayed and I left.

But today…after two years of sporadic phone calls, texts, and meetings in driveways we reunited for a day. And it was perfect.

We spent the day the way one should spend the “most beautiful day of the year.” 

The fall before I graduated, my friend Cheney, myself, the boy, and her boyfriend, Chris, all took a trip up to Tiger, GA.

The day was only planned in so much that we decided to go.

As was today.

And it was perfect. 

After almost two years of a very minimum amount of time spent together it was as it no time had pasted at all. My favorite thing about the four of us…we’re fun. 

And we all get along really well.

Read: They’re our favorite “couple” friends. Never mind that they’re really our only couple friends. That is irrelevant.

Just like our day spent in Tiger two years ago, today included random mountain trails and overlooks, goats on a roof, wine tasting, yummy lunch, pumpkin picking, and laughing, of course.

You know how going to the beach makes some people really happy. Those people who that is their go-to happy place. The sand, the waves, the sound of the waves crashing, the wind, etc…all just make their heart skip a beat and do a jig? (Yep, a jig.) 

Well that place…is the mountains for me.

Clean, crisp air. An autumn breeze. Sun shine that makes everything sparkle. Orange, gold, amber, red, and bronze everywhere you look. Roads that wind up and down and around through shadows that dance in rainbows of color.

I will be on a happy high for weeks.
