27 Dec Christmas at a glance…
Well it’s two days post-Christmas and as much as the world may have already moved on I’m still hanging on. I could cry at the end of the Christmas season. It seems so wrong. Months of anticipation, build up, preparation for The Gift unto the world of freedom and saving grace, and the gifts that are fun too…only to climax and decrescendo in one day. I think not. This Christmas season has been one of the best yet. The combination of having the boy around for the whole kit-n-kaboodle (is that how you spell that? kitten kaboodle? …I don’t think that’s it…), the smaller emphasis on gifts, the bigger emphasis on blessings and family, the awareness of how huge the blessings I have in my life are…it’s been super sweet.
I fear I may have grazed over the real celebration that is Christmas in my posts the past few weeks. Truth is: I have been so completely overwhelmed by the abundance in my life that to explain to you the greatest Gift of all seems impossible. Simply put: two days ago we celebrated a birthday. The birth of a child which began with a humble birth in a stable and ended with the birth of freedom, peace, joy, and light for all the undeserving. God’s Gift, Jesus, has truly saved my life this year. And the resulting light in my life…unimaginable.
Even if you’re not a big Jesus or God or church fan…this message and this message are indescribable in their simplicity in explaining why this Christmas is so good.
Merry Christmas week…
